Personal Information Protection Guidelines

Tokyo Waterworks International ("TWI" hereinafter) considers the appropriate protection of personal information to be one of its social duties and endeavors to handle and protect information from which individuals could be identified in an appropriate manner.

1 Basic guidelines
TWI adheres to all provisions of the "Act on the Protection of Personal Information" and other related laws and ordinances. TWI has formulated "Personal Information Protection Bylaws" that serve as the basis for its information management system, and it endeavors to make ongoing improvements to them.

2 Acquisition of personal information
TWI will explicitly state the purpose of use when acquiring personal information and will handle that information within the scope required to achieve the purpose.

3 Management of personal information
TWI will maintain the accuracy of personal information and manage it securely. It will take such steps as are necessary to prevent the unauthorized disclosure, loss or damage etc. of personal information.

4 Provision of personal information to third parties
TWI will not provide or disclose personal information to third parties without the consent of the individual except as required under relevant laws and ordinances etc. When providing personal information in these circumstances it will seek an explicit statement of the purpose of use and method of use from the receiving party and, when necessary, require that appropriate measures are taken with respect to its handling.

5 Disclosure and amendment etc. of personal information
TWI acknowledges that the individual has the right to seek disclosure, amendment and cessation of use of his or her personal information. It will respond to such requests in a timely manner upon confirmation of the requester's identity.
